Assessment Fridays have begun! This means that every classroom will have testing days to check for spelling, grammar, comprehension, reading, and math skills. It takes parent/teacher collaboration to move our children forward.
Please do not ignore our school rules and regulations regarding drop off and pick up procedures (Do NOT Double Park, No U-Turns, No Parking or Waiting in the Drop-off White Zone).
Parent Teacher Conferences are coming up fast (Nov. 19-21). Progress reports regarding your child’s academic progress have gone home for most grades. Here are some questions that you may want to use during your parent teacher conference.
Parent Teacher Conference Etiquette:
TOP 3 Things To Do When Attending a Parent Teacher Conference: Show up 5 Minutes Early (just in case), Listen (take notes), and PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS.
The following are some important questions that should be answered prior to you leaving the conference:
- Learning: is my child at Grade Level Standards for November in Reading, Comprehension, Writing, Math, Social Studies, and Science, does my child try his/her best? What specific things can I do at home to help?
- Behavior: does my child listen to teacher directions in class, raise his/her hand to participate or ask questions, and able to work kindly with other kids in class? What suggestions do you have for the teacher or can the teacher suggest things for you to do to promote positive behavior in school at home?
- Study Habits: does my child turn in homework complete, does he/she try even when items are difficult to complete? Let the teacher know your child’s routine after school and how he/she studies for the FRIDAY weekly tests. Then ask if he or she has any suggestions on how to prepare in addition to the homework for Friday tests?
Sincerely and Respectfully,
