On November 14, 1960, six-year-old Ruby Bridges became the first Black student to integrate at her elementary school in New Orleans. Her courageous act of showing up to school each day played an important role in the civil rights movement. Several of our schools will be honoring this important event by recreating this walk.

Our district office and schools will be closed on Monday, November 11, in honor of Veterans Day. We encourage all staff and families to remember and honor the more than 18 million veterans living across the country today. Their courage, dedication, and sacrifice inspire us every day.

This October, join us in promoting a safe and welcoming school environment for all students for National Bullying Awareness Month! This year, we are helping students to become more resilient and build the strength they need to navigate tough situations, prioritize their mental health, and succeed in school.
