Dear Students, Parents, and Friends:

Welcome to a new school year at George Washington! I am very excited to have you in my class, and look forward to a great year. I hope you have had an enjoyable summer vacation. Our school year will be filled with many learning experiences, special friendships, trips and projects. I plan to make this an educational as well as memorable year for your child.

Just a reminder to all parents, we must work together to create a safe environment for our students to learn. Please remember to use the Drop Off Zone in the front of school and on Hanover Street, and remain in the Parent Waiting Areas of the school. Adults must check in the office and receive a pass when on campus. PLEASE FOLLOW THESE SIMPLE RULES, it will help ensure that everyone is safe on our school campus. Remember School BEGINS at 8:25 and ends at 2:58 (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday), on Wednesday school begins at 8:25 and ENDS at 1:45.

Homework is a very important part of our curriculum. In order to ensure that your child is ready to complete his/her homework properly, please have the following supplies available AT HOME:

1. pencils

2. crayons

3. scissors

4. glue

 

This week, the students and I will be spending time getting to know each other. We will discuss our classroom’s rules and procedures.
