Graduation Information

Planning out the end of the year events for eighth-grade students is underway. Our April newsletter will have some of the current information. Be sure to have up to date contact information so that you can learn the latest.

Graduation is on June 15, 2018, at 10:30 am. Students will receive two tickets for the ceremony. More information will be distributed as we get closer to the date.

8^th Grade Promotion Activities

and Non-Participation

Following are the standards to be used to determine eligibility for promotion activities based on seven progress/report card grading periods (not including the 4^th quarter report card). If a student was on the non-participation list:

·            7 of 7 times -          no participation in any of the promotion activities

·            6 of 7 times -          no breakfast

·            5 of 7 times -          no dance and field trip

·            4 of 7 times -          no field trip

·            3 of 7 times -          may participate in all activities (dance, field trip, breakfast and ceremony)

District Policy

1.        If a student has a GPA below 1.0, he/she is not permitted to participate in any promotion activities.

2.        If a student has three “Unsatisfactory in Behavior” comments on the 4^th quarter report card, he/she is not permitted to participate in any promotion activities. (Teachers will be asked for 8^th grade 4^th quarter grades about two weeks prior to the ceremony.)

3.        If a student has two “Unsatisfactory in Behavior” comments on the 4^th quarter report card, making a total of six or more “Unsatisfactory in Behavior” comments on all report cards (progress reports are not included) he/she is not permitted to participate in any promotion activities.
