2020 Kent Award
October 23, 2020: Westlake Elementary received the 2020 Kent Award at a virtual ceremony this Friday. Westlake earned the Kent Award for our Comprehensive Reading Intervention Program. "At Westlake Elementary we believe every student deserves the opportunities afforded to them by literacy. Our Reading Intervention Program is designed to help students achieve their goals, as well as create a lifelong love of reading." Check out our video below!

2020 California PBIS Community Cares Honor
August 10, 2020: Westlake Elementary has been recognized by the California PBIS Coalition "for the outstanding contribution of support and care during the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic and resulting disruptions to school. 2020 School Recognition Awards Ceremony
February 10, 2020: On Monday, Mrs. O'Neill (joined by Mrs. Golembiewski and Mrs. Hansen) accepted the 2020 California Distinguished School Award for Westlake at the California School Recognition Program Awards Ceremony in Anaheim. 2020 California Distinguished School Award
December 18, 2019: Congratulations Westlake! Our school was recognized as a 2020 California Distinguished School! This is quite an honor as our district has not had a school qualify in about 10 years. What is a Distinguished School? The program "honors some of California's most exemplary and inspiring public schools. Schools selected for the Distinguished School Award demonstrate significant gains in narrowing the achievement gap." Thank you to our supportive and hardworking students, teachers, principals, and staff throughout the years! 

November 7, 2019: Westlake has been nominated to apply for the 2020 California Distinguished School Award! Mrs. O'Neill, our staff, and our students are very excited. Check out the school photos we took on Thursday below to celebrate!

2018-2019 PTA Membership Award
The Jefferson PTA Council awarded Westlake PTA for having the 3rd largest percentage of PTA memberships within all schools in the district for the 2018-19 school year! Thank you Westlake families for supporting the PTA!
