The Administration recommends scheduling a meeting to review the polling data from the May 5th election.

The Administration recommends adoption of Resolution #09-05-13A, designating the week of May 18-22, 2009, as Classified Employees Week.

The Superintendent recommends that the Governing Board take action to eliminate a part-time Warehouse Delivery Driver.
 
II.    BUSINESS & FINANCIAL PROCEDURES - Enrique Navas
 
         1.   * Approval of Warrants.........................Action (C)
            General Fund Warrants totaling $1,625,914.16.
 
         2.   * FY 2009 Asphalt Repair and Replacement Project.........................Action (C)
The bid opening for the FY 2009 Asphalt Repair and Replacement Project was held on April 23, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the District Office. The Administration recommends the bid be awarded to the low bidder, No Fault Asphalt, in the amount of $189,274.00. The recommended contractor has submitted the low valid bid.  A bid summary is attached.  This project will be funded by the deferred maintenance program.
 
III.   CERTIFICATED PERSONNEL - Jan Hopkins
 
         1.   Certificated Retirement.........................Action (V)
The Administration recommends approval of the retirement request from ROBIN MOSHONOV, 1st grade teacher, George Washington School effective June 13, 2009.  Ms. Moshonov has been employed in the District since August 27, 1969.  The Administration also requests that an appropriate resolution be prepared commending Ms. Moshonov for her years of service with the District.
 
The Administration also recommends approval of the retirement request from LOIS MARSHALL, 6th grade teacher, T.R. Pollicita School effective June 13, 2009.  Ms. Marshall has been employed in the District since September 8, 2000.
 
         2.   * Certificated Resignation.........................Action (C)
The Administration recommends acceptance of the following resignation:  BRIJIT LOPEZ, currently on Leave of Absence from an elementary job share position at J.F. Kennedy School. Resignation effective April 13, 2009.  Ms. Lopez has been employed in the District since August 21, 2002.

         3.   * Hire Certificated Substitute Teachers.........................Action (C)
The Administration recommends hiring the following substitute teachers for the 2008-2009 school year:  FRED CLAY, RICHARD KOCH, and ANNAPURNA GREIG.
 
         4.   * Subsequent Waiver.........................Action (C)
The Administration recommends approval of the following Waiver:  A subsequent waiver is required for MARIE MALINAO, Special Education Preschool Teacher for the 2009-2010 school year 9/1/09 - 8/31/10 in order for Ms. Malinao to complete the necessary coursework for her Education Specialist ECE credential.
 
IV. CLASSIFIED PERSONNEL - Jan Hopkins
 
         1.   * Resignation - Classified Employee.........................Action (C)
The Administration recommends approval of the following resignation:  JEFF K. YAMAOKA, P.E. Aide, JFK, effective 4/29/09.  Mr. Yamaoka has been employed by the District since 12/8/08.
 
         2.   * Employment - Classified Personnel.........................Action (C)
            The Administration recommends approval of employment of the following employees:
(Prob.) EDC Program Assistant, $14.03/hr., 3 hrs./day, 10 mos./year, JFK/MPB, effective 4/27/09: MARIA E. ZELAYA
(Sub.) EDC Program Assistant, $13.75/hr., Campus Supervisor, $14.43/hr., as needed, effective 4/14/09: MARION D. BROWN
 
V. CURRICULUM & INSTRUC./PUPIL PERSONNEL SERVICES-Bernie Vidales
 
         1.   * Acceptance of Donations.........................Action (C)
            The Administration recommends approval of the following donations:
            F.D. Roosevelt:
$150.00 from PG&E Campaign for the Community - in two $75.00 checks dated March 25, 2009 and April 9, 2009 to be used at the school.
            $25.00 from Wells Fargo Foundation Educational Matching Gift Program to be used at the school.
            Thomas Edison:
$50.00 from Wells Fargo Foundation Educational Matching Gift Program and Mrs. Sorena Lai to be used at the school.
