The bid opening for the Gardening Services at the District’s 19 sites was held on May 13, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the District Office.  The Administration recommends the bid be awarded to the low bidder, Abbey Homestead Nursery Inc. dba/Masini Brothers, in the amount of $14,057.23 per month.  A bid summary is attached.
 
         4.   * FY 2009-10 Monitoring and Maintaining the Intrusion Systems at the District’s 18 Sites.........................Action (C)
The bid opening for Monitoring and Maintaining Intrusion Systems at the District’s 18 sites was held on May 14, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the District Office.  The Administration recommends the bid be awarded to the low bidder, AEC Alarms/Au Electric Corporation, in the amount of $22,800.00.  A bid summary is attached.
 
         5.   * 2009 Relocatable Classroom at Marjorie H. Tobias School.........................Action (C)
The bid opening for FY 2009 Relocatable Classroom at M.H. Tobias School was held on May 15, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the District Office.  The Administration recommends the bid be awarded to the low bidder, Casey Construction, in the amount of $98,820.00.  This project is funded with Developer Fees.  A bid summary is attached.
 
         6.   * Bread Bid for 2009-10 School Year.........................Action (C)
The Bread Bid for 2009-10 school year was held on May 13, 2009.  The Administration recommends the bid be awarded to Sara Lee Bakery.  A bid summary is attached.
 
         7.   * Amendment to the Use Permit Agreement - Harvest Baptist Church................Action (C)
The Administration recommends approval of the amendment to the Use Permit Agreement between Harvest Baptist Church and Jefferson School District.
 
III.   CERTIFICATED PERSONNEL - Jan Hopkins
 
         1.   Certificated Retirements.........................Action (V)
The Administration recommends approval of the retirement request from LYNNE MAYER, BTSA Advisor, effective June 13, 2009. Ms. Mayer has been employed in the District since February 1, 1971.
The Administration recommends approval of the retirement request from EUGENIA M. RAMSTETTER, 5/6th grade teacher, Westlake School, effective June 13, 20009.  Ms. Ramstetter has been employed in the District since January 23, 1978.
The Administration also requests that appropriate resolutions be prepared commending Ms. Mayer and Ms. Ramstetter for their years of service with the District.
 
         2.   * Hire Certificated Substitutes.........................Action (C)
The Administration recommends hiring the following substitute teacher for the 2008-2009 school year:  CHAWNTAY MORELAND.
 
         3.   * Hire 2009 Summer School Administrator & Teachers.........................Action (C)
The Administration recommends hiring the following certificated personnel for Summer School 2009:
            Administrator:  Joseph McCreary, Summer School Principal, at a stipend of $4,000.00.
            School Psychologist:  James Adams, at Per Diem.
At Risk Teachers:  Mary Hagen, Christine McSpadden, Ernest Felix, Phillip Burnett, Carla Walden, and Lorraine Handy at a stipend of $2,860 plus an additional 8 hours for testing.
            Alternates:  Alexandra Tan, Jennifer Bower, Megan Hopkins, and Amy Teranes.
Special Education Teachers:  Lailani Estella, Victoria Doerr, Marivic Corpus, Holly Sullivan, Mayleen Dela Cruz, Amy Truong, Richard Wagman, and Robin Mendoza at a stipend of $2,860.
