3. Governing Board’s Appointment to the Personnel Commission.........................Action (V)
The Governing Board on September 27, 2009, announced Ron Appel as its intended appointee to the Personnel Commission for a three-year term beginning December 1, 2009. The final appointment may be the announced appointee or another person as determined by the Board.

Pursuant to Education Code 35120 (9)(c), the Administration recommends passage of a resolution to excuse Adam Duran’s absence on October 14, 2009, due to illness.

The Administration recommends the approval of the Pandemic Flu Plan, as developed by the San Mateo County of Education.
II. BUSINESS & FINANCIAL PROCEDURES - Enrique Navas

Warrants totaling $519,311.00.
2. * Fernando Rivera Gym Floor Refinishing Project.........................Action (C)
The bid opening for the Fernando Rivera Gym Floor Refinishing Project was held on October 19, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the District Office. The Administration recommends the bid be awarded to the low bidder, Merit Floor Care in the Amount of $15,700.00. The recommended contractor has submitted the low valid bid for the project. A bid summary is attached. This project will be funded by the Capital Outlay (Fund 40) Program.
III. CERTIFICATED PERSONNEL - Jan Hopkins
1. * Hire Certificated Substitutes 2009-2010.........................Action (C)
The Administration recommends hiring the following Certificated Substitutes for the 2009-2010 school year at the rate of $130 per day: KARL KELCEC, JAMIE JUNG, DAVID GRIMES, LISA CARTER, JESSE NUSSBAUM, ASA RANDOLPH, ALLEN P. BENEDETTI, DIANA NISHIMUTA.
2. * Certificated Leave of Absence.........................Action (C)
The Administration recommends approval of a request for a Leave of Absence received from: ERIN BOO-YA REDDING, 5/6th grade teacher, M.P. Brown School, Family Leave, October 15, 2009 through October 23, 2009.
3. * Limited Term Employment for 2009-2010, Reading Resource Teachers at Garden Village and George Washington.........................Action (C)
The Administration recommends approval of Limited Term Employment for OLIVIA ROLNICK, retired teacher, as Title One Reading Resource Teacher at Garden Village Elementary School, at the rate of $35.71 per hour, not to exceed $250 per day, through June 2010, for a total of 420 hours.
The Administration also recommends approval for ROBIN MOSHONOV, retired teacher, as Title One Reading Resource Teacher at George Washington School, 4 days a week, at the rate of $35.71 per hour, not to exceed 16 hours per week, through June 2010.
4. * Notre Dame De Namur University - Student Teacher Agreement 2009-2011...Action (C)
NOTRE DAME DE NAMUR UNIVERSITY has requested placement for student teachers for a 2-year term, starting October 2009 through June 30, 2011. Supervising Teachers will be paid no more than $30 per unit, per semester, and per candidate. The Administration recommends approval of the Student Teaching Assignment for the term of October 14, 2009 through June 30,2011.
